Welcome!
While not quite an Iowa native, Jake was born in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. After moving to and being raised in Iowa, Jake graduated from Carroll High School in Carroll, Iowa. Upon graduation from high school, Jake entered the fitness industry and completed his certification as a personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
While working in the Central Iowa area as a personal trainer, his passion for wellness, kinesiology, and movement of the human body led him to enter the field of massage therapy. Jake completed his initial massage therapy training at Body Wisdom Massage School in Urbandale, and specialized his massage education in deep tissue and sports massage. Prior to founding his private practice of Beyond Recovery, Jake was the medical massage therapist for a chiropractic clinic in Waukee.
An experienced athlete himself, Jake has great understanding of the human body and what is it capable of doing. He really enjoys applying this knowledge to his work and helping clients ‘fix’ problems, whether that his through mobility work, deep tissue, or spot work.
Outside of his work, Jake enjoys spending time cycling, golfing, and cooking.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body's surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.
SPORTS MASSAGE
A sports massage can assist with training, rehabilitation, and pre- or post-performance goals. Elite and amateur athletes, sports massage can also be beneficial for anyone who regularly exercises.

Beyond Recovery Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Beyond Recovery understands that unanticipated events happen. In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients and out of the consideration of my time, I have adopted the following policies:
Beyond Recovery asks that you provide at least 24-hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
If you are unable to give me the proper time of advance notice (24 hours) you will be charged 50% for your missed appointment.
Anyone who either forgets or chooses to forgo their appointment with no contact will be considered a “no-show.” You will be charged the full amount of your “missed appointment.”
An invoice will be sent to you via email and your payment must be made before your next appointment is scheduled.
